I've got that movie clip....Posted 8:11 PMI was going to put up something witty (maybe something about what really goes on in Redmond as Autumn sets in), but I'll just say that Yosi needed some storage, and I've got it. I'll also mention that if you're here for skateboard racing videos, this isn't it: Tuesday, October 07, 2003
Contract Enforcement and SOAPosted 9:32 AMClemens blogs about the importance of checking for post-conditions as well pre-conditions. While I agree that ensuring post-condition guarantees is an often ignored part of many service implementations that I've seen in the wild, I don't know if it's more important. I agree with the Eiffel viewpoint that the set of pre-conditions and the set of post-conditions are an exchange of benefits and obligations. The pre-condition ensures that clients are maintaining their side of the contract - and the post-condition guarantees to the client that the producer has met their requirements (but only if the pre-condition holds). I leave you with a link to Bertrand Meyer's tutorial on Design by Contract. Read, think, repeat.
World Championships of Skateboard SlalomPosted 8:35 AMJust realized I hadn't blogged with my results. In the Men's Open division got 36th out of 59 in Slalom, and 32nd in Tight Slalom. Not bad for a 40+ guy that returned to racing about 18 months ago. Pics coming. Gear:
Update: Corrected after receiving the official results.
